A dog a day… Spot

Today’s dog is Spot, he’s located at the Haven Humane Society in Redding, California.

My name is Spot. I am a good boy… I deserve love and a home, I try really hard to do everything right.

I am in this place called an animal Shelter. I am afraid no one will want me… I guess I look like I have something called “pit bull” in me, and they just walk right passed me. I wish I knew what “pit bull” was… maybe I can stop being it?

I don’t know how much longer they will have me here… there are so many new animals coming in, its like they are running out of room for me.

Please help…. if you want to be my family, come save me.

Spot is being networked via Save the Nor-Cal Shelter Dogs.

A dog a day… Murphy and Judy

Todays’s dog are a couple of senior pups that need a new home. These two dogs are in the Denver, CO area with The Little Old Dog Sanctuary.

The kind folks at The Little Old Dog Sanctuary are are trying to help a woman find homes for her mother-in-law’s dogs (she recently passed away). The son and daughter-in-law live in an apartment and are not allowed to have pets.

Here is what she the woman said about these two sweet dogs:

“My mother-in-law passed a few days ago and I’ve been trying to place her two dogs: Judy and Murphy. Judy is a 13/14 year old Shih Tzu and Murphy is a 8/9 Lhasa Apso. They have been together their whole lives and would be better if they are not separated.

They are very friendly, she is adorable and still runs and plays at her old age. Murphy is shy and doesn’t play fetch, but he’s a sweet dog that loves to be close to you and is looking for some care. They are indoor dogs, they don’t like to spend too much time outside. They have some health issues, no records available. Judy has some small bumps around her body, covered by her fur and Murphy has a hernia on his abdomen. We were only able to afford Rabies shots for them. Hope to find a good heart that can take care of these two senior dogs.”

If you are interested, please send The Little Old Dog Sanctuary a message and they get you in touch with the family. If you can’t adopt, please share this post. Thank you for helping the seniors!

A dog a day… Kelly

Today’s dog is Kelly, a sweet gal located in here in southern California.

Kelly is a one year old tan, female Chihuahua hit by a car in La Puente on April 23rd and brought to the Baldwin Park Shelter. Sadly her front right leg had to be amputated. This very sweet tripod is going to make a complete recovery according to the shelter’s veterinary staff – and will have no problem walking. She weighs in at 10 pounds, so she’s easy to carry too.

Kelly is super friendly and highly companionable – and we are hoping someone will step in and rescue her so she can get back to 100% in a clean and nurturing environment. Kelly will be a fantastic lapdog and indoor pet for an individual or family in any living situation.

You can see a video of Kelly on YouTube.

Kelly’s control number at the Baldwin Park Shelter is A4700466.

Please share and network Kelly using the hashtag #aDogaDay.

A dog a day… Roy

Today’s dog is Roy and Friends of the Baldwin Park Shelter are helping him find a new home.

Roy is a well-mannered 6 year old black and fawn neutered male German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd with perhaps a bit of Husky mix.

He was brought to the Baldwin Park Shelter on March 26th. Weighing in at 60 pounds, Roy is a medium energy, well socialized dog who walks brilliantly on leash, ‘sits’ and ‘shakes’ on command is most likely house trained.

Roy is fantastic with other dogs, we think he will make a splendid companion for children. Roy is an exceptional dog, who is the ultimate indoor pet for a family living in a private home.
